Import Duties and Taxes

All Buxumbox orders are dispatched from our workshop in the United Kingdom. While orders exported outside the UK do not include UK VAT, they must cross an international border and therefore may be subject to local import duties, tariffs, taxes, customs-clearance charges or carrier fees when they reach the destination country.

These charges are NOT included in your Buxumbox order total and are the responsibility of the recipient. They are assessed by the destination country’s customs or tax authorities and/or the delivery carrier. Buxumbox does NOT set or receive these charges.

Import rules and charges vary between countries and can change at short notice. They may depend on the product, order value, country of origin, delivery destination and the rules in force when the order is imported. For this reason, we cannot provide a reliable estimate in advance.

United States

Orders delivered to the United States must pass through U.S. Customs. Depending on the current import rules, product classification, declared value and country of origin, you will be asked to pay import duties or tariffs, customs processing fees and courier or brokerage charges.

The carrier or customs broker - in the case of Buxumbox typically FedEx - will normally contact you if payment or additional information is required, typically via email, but could also be via text message or phone call. Payment may be needed before your order can be delivered.

European Union

Orders delivered from the United Kingdom to an EU country are imports from outside the European Union and must pass through customs.

You may be asked to pay import VAT, customs duty, customs processing charges and/or postal or courier clearance fees. The amount and payment process vary between EU member states. The carrier or customs broker - in the case of Buxumbox typically FedEx - will normally contact you if payment or additional information is required, typically via email, but could also be via text message or phone call. Payment may be needed before your order can be delivered.

Rest of World

Every country and territory has its own import rules. Depending on the destination, your order may be subject to customs duty or tariffs, GST, VAT or another import tax, as well as carrier clearance, brokerage or handling fees.

Please check the website of your destination country’s customs authority or contact your delivery carrier for current information. If a charge is due, the carrier - in the case of Buxumbox typically FedEx - will normally contact you using the delivery details supplied with your order, via email, phone, or text message. Payment may be needed before your order can be delivered.
